Democracy is dead, long live the Prime Minister!

Prime minister Mr Ranil Wickramasinghe has won the motion of no confidence against him yesterday night. Throughout the day, during the parliamentary debate, he was ably defended by his former enemies turned close friends such as Mr Mangala Samaraweera and Dr Rajitha Senaratne. Not so surprisingly, all the so-called minority parties voted against the no confidence motion, proving the fact that they are just an extended arms of foreign interests. They made the hay while Mr Wickramasinghe was in trouble.

Members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party- Mithree section was a divided lot. Some powerful leaders such as Mr Susil Premjayantha, Mr Anura Yapa, Mr Jhon Senevirathne, Mr S.B Dissanayake voted for the no confidence motion, while 22 members comprising the minority MPs opted stay away from the vote.   Once again it proved the fact that President Mithreepala has no political principles, but thinking only of his own survival. It is high time for someone to hand over an impeachment against the president!

It is apparent that most of the agitators who raised their voice against the Prime minister changed their mind just before the vote. As observed by most of the interested parties, millions of rupees would have changed hands. Money talks, we listen with interest!

Having won the vote, now it is the worst time for Mr Wickramasinghe. He has to deliver the goods. Electronic media are broadcasting the promises he made to the minority parties. Those are very harmful for the national security integrity.  On the other hand, members of the United National Party have openly saying that they support the Prime minister because has has promised to elect new leader to the party. Imagine one fighting a ferocious battle to win that and handover all the spoils to a new leader??

If the Prime minister is adamant in fulfilling all those promises he made to the minority parties and his own party members, it is a very interesting phenomena. He has to take decisions to destroy the country by fulfilling the promises made to the minority parties. He has to resign from the party leadership next. Cost of wining the battle is too much. Victory is not so sweet when your soul is mortgaged to the devil!

Knowing Mr Wickramasinghe, one could assume that he is not serious in fulfilling his promises. He may forget about the democracy in his party and democracy in country at large. As Mr Vimal Weerawanse reminded us yesterday, he will be old Ranil again tomorrow! He will walk a tight rope making more and more enemies.

Mr WIckramasinghe has won the battle, however will he win the war??

  2. Dear Sarasa Thuma,

Normally through friends and contacts I get to know what is happening, but this time I did not have a clue, as a "Game Bayiya" using my limited commonsense I said this is only a orchestration.

If you critically analyse the situation you will find out Ranil is a western agent, however at the same time you will not find any senior person in the UNP that can replace Ranil.

It seems you do not want to talk about people who did not attend this by becoming absent don't you? to me all these people want to fool the general public.

Public opinion can be twist and turned for the need and wants of big corporations and powerful individuals, this is what a simple mortal like me can see.

Highly learned people like you might get to see something else.

    3. Well, it is like eating Dhosai at an Indian restaurant. When you order thosaiu, you get sambar, you do not have to order that specifically. Likewise when you deal in this type of desperate situations you put forward your demands and when they agree, the agreement is sealed with MONEY!!!
